Why dopes in the title you ask? It’s because it’s my opinion that you have to be one if you take drugs. Anyway I would say that most countries have Booze Buses which is where a group of policemen stop cars and test the drivers to see if they are under the influence of alcohol. Well in South Australia the cops have taken it one step further and now can also test to see if the driver is driving under the influence of drugs!
At a cost of $ 150000 over a four and a half month period the police tested 3500 drivers and found that twice as many of them were driving in a doped daze as were drink drivers. The government is also running tv ads in the hope that these doped up drivers wake up to themselves and stop putting their lives and those of others at risk.
