My Forum has been getting hit by Spam Bots quite a bit of late, so much so that it’s been taking about 30mins a day just deleting the crap membership details. Spam Bots are a script developed by these unscrupulous people in order to get their damn websites listed on thousands of forums a day. They hope that by doing this they get a better ranking on search engines such as Google.
I got sick of this daily chore and found a little mod that was a since to install and has so far stopped 100% of the Spam Bots. Naturally I still get the dreaded human spammers, but these are a lot fewer in number and a lot more fun to deal with.
