I would just like to bring to the attention of those people looking for a home loan or already have one, that they should seriously compare mortgages. This is one sure way to save themselves a whole heap of money. It pays to take the time to shop around so that you get the best possible deal possible. Even if you can save a half of a percent, over the term of the loan that would save you literally thousands of dollars.

Even those of you who already have a loan, you might consider remortgages. Perhaps the first loan wasn’t at the best rate and you can do better. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to have a look to see what savings can be made now would it?

One last thing I would seriously consider is taking out mortgage insurance because you never know when something could go wrong. You may get sick or be involved in an accident putting you out of work for an extended period of time, and if for some reason this was to happen, at least you know that you are covered.
