Labor’s Computers For Schools Promise Floundering

In one of last years election promises Rudd said that every Year 9-12 student was promised his own computer as part of his so-called “Education Revolution.” At the time I though that this would be a whole lot of BS and I was wondering how long before it would bite the Labor Party in the arse.

A while back little miss Julia Gillard came up with the brain wave where public schools would share the campuses of the more affluent private schools. I could see this as a way out of buying a whole heap of computers and I also knew that it would not sit well with all the parents who pumped all their hard earned cash into their children’s education.

It seems that in todays paper that many principals are warning that this farcical promise was actually floundering and turning into a shambles. It also seems that the States have just found out that they have to come up $3 billion dollars of their own to contribute to the fund, something they were not told during the election. Actually it seems that the whole fiasco wasn’t funded properly as they did not take into consideration the fact that the costs involved included more than just buying a whole heap of computers. This does not surprise me, after all we are dealing with the Labor party who are well known to be ‘blow-out kings’.
