What To Do With Phone Call Scams And Their Phishing Trip

It seems that these con merchants aren’t satisfied with their phishing expeditions via the Internet, that they are actually calling people on their home phones. They will use many identities from “You have just won a great holiday” to more professional ones such as a phone call from your bank in regards to your banking details etc. If you do get a call from someone saying he is from your bank do not, whatever you do divulge any information. Instead do the following.

  • Ask for their name and the dpartment they are working for
  • Ask for a phone number, but whatever you do, do not call them back, as you are on your own phishing expedition.
  • Ask for the exact details pertaining to the phone call. In other words what the F do they want
  • Once you have gotten the information, simply hang up.

I then suggest you call your bank and relate any information you have collected to them.  Whatever you do, whether it’s on the net or over the phone never, ever give out personal details to these morons.

My father has always stressed that “to trust is good, but not to trust is better”.

Yes it is a shame but I think this is the best policy now.
