Let me just say that I am an ANZ customer but even so I recognized the following email as being a whole lot of bullshit as soon as I saw it.
Dear ANZ customer,
We are currently updating our database in order to introduce a new security measure intended to protect our members from fraud and unauthorized account usage.
You are required to take 2-3 minutes of your time and complete our online form. Please note that failure in validating your information will result in limiting your account.

OK, I removed the link for obvious reasons. Firstly, if it was a legitimate email it would have been addressed to me personally and not to an ambiguous ‘ANZ customer’! Secondly the link would have taken me to their site and not to an address with a site made up to look like theirs.
Pretty simple really, but there will be people out there that would be fooled by this email. Don’t you be one of them.
