Organic White Oil Spray

I have just found another use for my blog. As I am always losing things and my blog always seems to be there waiting for me patiently I thought I would use it to record certain tidbits that I may need to refer back to. This entry will come in handy for any avid gardener who wishes to keep white-flies in check.

White-flies look like very tiny moth-like flying bugs. They’re not flies and are in fact related to aphids. White-flies will damage plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers beans and cabbages. I have even seen them hanging around my orange tree. Their eggs are found under leaves of the plants and you can notice the affect they have by the weakening and discoloration of the plants. The treatment is to check under the leaves and spray the following solution which is an completely organic and environmentally safe.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 tablespoon of natural soap (grated into flakes)
1 plastic spray bottle

Method

Grate the natural soap into the spray bottle and then add the vegetable oil and water to the spray bottle. Give it a good shake and your ready to kill those pesky pests.
