It amazes me how Rudds keeps attacking Howard over his lack of a ‘Carbon Target’ over the question of cutting greenhouse emissions. He actually states that if Labor is elected they would make a 60 percent cut to emissions by 2050 against 2000 levels. This is a bloody ridiculous statement as he knows he won’t be around to meet the target. He knows there is know way in hell that Labor will be in power for that long so he will not be held accountable for such a far fetched statement. That and the fact that he failed to outline the measures they will take to achieve this target.
In fact that is what Rudd seems to be all about. He is saying all the right things to win over the electorate but I have yet to see him telling us how he is going to achieve all these vain promises. If he wins the coming election it is only because there are many who have not suffered the hardship over the previous Labor government.
The young of today are complaining about the high interest rates of 8.5% but did not have to live through Labors 17.5% interest rates. Nor did they have to live through the high unemployment rates. Perhaps they should also consider that each states current problems may be related to the fact that the states are all currently run by Labor.
As for Mr. Rann, please do us all a favor. Stop wasting our hard earned money on all these commercials that do nothing for the economy and are only meant to blow your own trumpet.
