What a sad and sorry state of affairs that we may have lost the last of the Yangtze River Dolphin, the first extinction of a large vertebrate for over 50 years. it has been reported that it is largely due to man that we have lost rare mammal. It seems too many have been caught in nets and that pollution and over fishing has made it all too hard for this beautiful mammal to survive.
It makes it all the more depressing when you hear reports of up to 80 dolphins being slaughtered for shark bait and lucky charms.
