I couldn’t believe it when I heard that Adelaide could lose the Clipsal 500 because of the stupidity of the Labor Government. This all because of some bullshit review that recommended it be moved to late February, and this stupid Government is prepared to listen to it even though V8 Supercars chairman Tony Cochrane said moving the Clipsal to February “will simply not happen”. And yet there is Premier Jay Weatherill on TV telling everyone that they are considering it. What a bloody wanker.
The news team went from V8 Supercars chairman Tony Cochrane to Jay. Tony was saying it would have been nice to have been consulted and Jay saying that he was. Then Tony says that he spoke to Jay on Friday saying that moving the Clipsal 500 to February wasn’t going to happen and Jay saying that the talks was still going on. Shit, you tell me which one you’re going to believe? All I can say is that if this Government doesn’t pull it’s head in and we lose this Race there is going to be a lot of unhappy constituents, not to mention the state will be some $34 million poorer in revenue.
It seems to me that if there is too much happening in our “Mad March” season then perhaps they should change the timetables of some of the other functions, like the Adelaide Fringe or WOMAD or something. I’m sure it would be easier to move one of those. It has to be easier because like Tony Cochrane says moving the Clipsal to February is impossible and will not happen.
Seems to me no matter what this government does lately it’s always the wrong choice.
