If you own a Mac, any computer actually but this one is for Mac owners, and you surf the net you’re internet connection and privacy could be at risk. Especially if you use public wifi!

There is only one way to secure your online presence while surfing the net and that is by using a VPN, or Virtual Private Network. I reckon the easiest way to show you how a VPN work is by showing you the following image.

How A VPN Works

How A VPN worksIf you’re not using a VPN you’d be connecting to the Internet using either you ISP or whatever free wifi you’re using. This article shows just how dangerous it is to connect to the internet without using a VPN.

A VPN allows you to connect to the internet via a secure, encrypted connection that keeps you safe from hackers. No longer do you have to worry about someone stealing your personal identity. Unless your stupid enough to put too much of your personal details on social media that is.

A VPN also keeps prying eyes away from your surfing habits. Not even your ISP or even big brother can tell which sites you’ve been visiting or what you’re downloading.

There are a lot of VPN’s out there but so far I’ve only come across one that is specifically designed for Macs. I’m not even sure how that makes a difference but if it does why wouldn’t you take advantage of that?

What’s interesting is although MacSentry’s service is optimized for Apple devices it will work and provide the same high-quality service on your devices including your Windows computer, and Android devices.

When it comes down to it, it doesn’t really matter which VPN you use as long as you use a reputable one.
