The first thing you need to do if you want to increase your traffic to your blog is to post consistently. When you share great content with your readers regularly, you give them a reason to come back to your site. You need to decide how many quality blog posts you can commit to each week, choose your posting days, and stick to that schedule. It will be easier for you in terms of content creation, and your readers will always know when to expect a new post on your blog. More importantly, posting consistently and optimizing your posts gives you more chances to get your content ranking in search engine results.

Sharing Your Content On Social Media

The most significant hurdle a lot of bloggers face is the inability to share their work. For some reason, they feel uncomfortable promoting it on social media and the like. If that’s you, it’s time to let those feelings go! You should be bloody proud when you create amazing content. You should be proud to share your content on social media which will increase traffic back to your website every time you publish a new post. Especially when someone loves your content so much, they share it with their contacts. 

Whenever I publish content, I always share it on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. I’ve found that more traffic comes from Facebook than the other two. I know some blogger do very well with Instagram. I don’t bother with them because I have such a small Instagram following.

It’s also a good idea to include a Pinterest friendly graphic for sharing there as well. For SEO reasons, you should always add at least one image in your post, making sure the alt tags contain your keywords.

Sharing your content on social media is excellent, but it’s even better when your readers take that next step to share something you’ve published. If you want people to share your content though, you need to make it easy for them to do so by adding social sharing icons on your blog which you can do by adding one of the many available WP plugins. It is also a good idea to leave a call to action at the end of your post, asking them to share if they got something out of your content.

Apart from your content, the most critical part of your blog post is the heading, the title of your post. Your heading can either make or break you. It’s the first thing your reader sees, and if it doesn’t catch their attention, they won’t stick around long enough to read your post. 

Once past the blog title you want to ensure the introduction of your post captivates them enough to read on, otherwise they may not stick around long enough to get to the vital part of your content, the part that makes you the income. Something else you need to keep in mind is not to trick your reader with a misleading headline as this will ruin your credibility.

If you want to increase the amount of organic traffic coming your way, you need to make sure you’re optimizing all of your blog content. So, take the time to do some research to find the long-tail keywords that would get you the best results. You want something that has a high search volume but lower competition so you can stand out. Make sure you strategically place your chosen keyword in your blog title, your meta description, in image alt tags, and throughout your post. Just make sure you don’t overdo it as keyword stuffing apart from ruining your content is not good SEO. I use the Yoast SEO plugin, which warns me when I’ve used too many keywords and also helps with other SEO hints. 

Guest Posts &Best Blog Traffic Tips

Another way to get your brand out there is to approach other bloggers asking them if you can do a guest post. If I’m lucky enough to write a guest post, I always monitor it for comments so that I can reply to them which shows the blog owner and their readers that you care and are willing to share your knowledge. When I used to accept guest post on my blogs, I always made it a requirement that they had to reply to all comments; otherwise, I would remove their links from within the post.

When doing guest posts, don’t be afraid to pitch larger websites, but you should also reach out to sites that are on the same level or even smaller than yours. Reaching out to sites that are in your niche is also an excellent idea. Find influencers in your niche and ask if you can interview them which will provide valuable content for your readers to check out. Once the interview is live, the influencer in your interview will surely promote it to their audience, sending more traffic your way. 

Making connections in the blogging world is so important, whether you’re searching for friends or new readers. I found the best way to do that is by being a regular commenter on their blogs, ensuring you always leave exceptional comments which may even encourage them to visit your blog, leaving a comment in return. 

Another way to find new people is through Facebook groups or other online forums. With so many Facebook groups these days, you’re sure to find some that are relevant to your niche. And if you spend time there, you’ll be able to reach your target audience and direct them back to your website.

Always keep in mind that many Facebook groups have rules about promoting your site. Make sure you read and respect rules for any Facebook groups you join. However, if you’re active in a group and you have your blog linked as your job in your profile, it’s an easy way for people to discover your site.
