I reckon a lot of Creators, like myself, pretty much hate analytics, which is why I have ignored it for so long. However, I want to succeed on YouTube, so I bit the bullet, and I looked at my YouTube analytics to see if I could work out a way to boost my views. I discovered that by studying specific aspects of my analytics, I could make small changes to a video which did increase my YouTube traffic.

I wanted to share this with my viewers so I produced a video called YouTube analytics for dummies. My simple YouTube analytics video shows how changing my thumbnail, and other small changes

I used my funny locker room joke as an example in my video.

As you can see in the image above my clickthrough rate, which is explained in the video, was a dismal 1.9%. No wonder I wasn’t getting many views! People didn’t find my thumbnail or heading or both, compelling enough to click on it.

I made a couple of changes and as you can see in the image below, my clickthrough rate went from 1.9% to 5.4%!

That is quite an improvement and so from now on I will be paying more attention to my YouTube analytics.
