There Is Hope For Troubled Teens

~~~
As a parent of two teens, a fifteen-year-old girl and an eighteen-year-old boy, I have a fair idea of some of the hassles they can present. I reckon that teens today have it a lot harder than we ever did and it’s probably all brought about by they are exposed to a lot more external influences and a lot is also caused by modern technology.
Mobile phones and Internet Chat rooms, for example, have brought about more exposure to bullying than ever before. In our days bullying was limited to school grounds and playgrounds etc and we were at least safe and able to get it together somewhat once we got home. Kids of today have no escape as bullies can taunt them wherever they are. This can lead to situations where kids get really stressed out and are in need of treatment of depression. This is so important because suicide can result if certain cases go without treatment.
Sure we had to deal with things like peer pressure and puberty in our time but consider the difference between the media that we were exposed to and what our kids have to put up with today. So much crap is readily available on the Internet and even if you manage to screen your child other parents don’t bother and you child gets infected through his or hers interaction with their friends. At least there is comfort in knowing that there is help for our troubled teens, and it can be found at parentingteens.com
