There are many famous Russian Artists including Wassily Kadinsky, credited with creating the first modern abstract works, or perhaps Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov who specialized in mythological and historical subject. These artists are historical and there is an up and coming Russian artist who is making a name for himself, Russian Artist Victor Lysakov.

Born in Siberia in 1952 Victor Lysakov discovered his talent at a young age. He discovered he was able to carry a conversation with the world through visual means at age six. Though as a young adult he studied engineering and established a successful career in various military plants he could not live without his art and it he decided to dedicate his life to it.

Like most artists he started with watercolours but later changed to acrylics and oils. A self-taught artist he has a style of his own, most commonly compared to modern expressionist paintings. Not being entirely subjective a captivating story accompanies each image.
Victor says of his paintings;
“At first glance, my modern expressionistic work might invoke a startling reaction – curiosity, mystery and even fear. But I dare you to conquer your fear – my paintings should not be scary; they merely depict life.
Using oil or acrylic on canvas, I enjoy painting contemporary motifs of creatures, figures, animals and nature. I prefer vibrant, unmistakable colors – my color palette is very distinct. Each painting is its own unique creation and exudes a certain depth. New or seasoned, trusting or suspicious, frightened or fearless – I challenge you to grow bored with my paintings. My images demand to speak to you…will you listen to them?
So there you go, he has thrown the gauntlet and it is up to you to take the challenge. You can do this by going online and let his paintings tell you their story. Do not be afraid, be amazed.
