It was common knowledge, and quite expected, that the states would oppose the IR laws being all Labor states. They therefore appealed the laws to the High Courts, but today the High Court dismissed the appeal by the states and the unions who had claimed that the laws were unconstitutional.
Naturally the Labor party and the unions are predicting doom and gloom for the country. I am personally in favour of the new laws. Oh sure there will be bosses who will try to take advantage of them, but I am sure they will be dealt with. Time will tell.
