One wonders about the life expectancy of many forums these days. I wrote an article once called Forums And One Way Links about a way of obtaining one way links. I noticed the other day that a lot of the newer forums I had joined have seemed to have disappeared. Is this because their popularity is dying or perhaps because some of these forums were just that, just forums and not part of a website?
Some of these were hosted on free sites, and perhaps this limited them to what they could do. Maybe the owners saw them as get rich schemes and closed them down once they realized they were wrong. Whatever the reason I doubt that Forums will in fact die out as they are such a great source of information, especially for webmasters who use them to not only promote their site but as a problem solving source for customers.
