My Spin On What People Are Saying.

I was amazed at some of the comments in the Advertiser the other day. Under the heading “Gullible Voters” the writer wrote; “When they ponder whether they should do so (trust Howard) they should remember things like stagflation under Howard as treasurer; the never ever GST; children overboard; the abhorrent industrial relations laws & the myriad of political advertising at the expense of taxpayers.”

What can I say except that stagflation was more prevalent under the Labor Government what with the high interest rates and high unemployment? As for the GST, it certainly hasn’t harmed the country and has provided the Government with much needed cash. It would have been a lot better if State Government had abolished certain other taxes when GST came in but of course they never did.

As for the so-called abhorrent IR Laws, the only ones other from Labor politicians that are kicking such a sting are the Unions and their brainwashed mates. If something wasn’t done about currant laws you would probably find a lot more companies moving overseas and taking the jobs with them. In regards to the advertising, it was only necessary to combat the Union scare campaign.

“Living In Hope,” states that, “Keeping the Liberals in Government will as history has already shown come at a cost to the Australian people”. Again he seems to gorget that under the Labor Government we had to go through “The Recession we had to have” and that interest rates were over 17% and as for unemployment, well lets not go there.

He then goes on to say; “If Howard gets his way and Australia goes nuclear, it’s a sure bet we will pay much more for power.” Give me a break, whatever way we go, whether it’s nuclear or clean coal or some other method, it’s going to cost us more, and won’t it be worth it if it provides a cleaner Australia for our country.

When it comes to voting I will be looking at the big picture, which is how Australia as a whole is tracking and not the small picture like what I as an individual will get out of it. If Australia does well the as a whole we will all be better off.
