It absolutely amazes me how Labor has for weeks been hounding Prime Minister Howard on calling the election and now that he has that they would better prepared. Then they brow beat him over having a debate and then when he picks a date they are strangely quiet. Could it be because he called the debate after announcing the latest tax policy? Perhaps they noticed that their own tax policy was somewhat lacking and it would therefore be embarrassing to enter a debate without a policy in hand.
Still after Howard saying he would commit to the 90min televised debate whether Rudd showed up or not, I suppose that not showing would do Rudd more harm than good, even if he does show up with a half baked tax policy.
