lexus Motor Company Lottery Promotion Is A Scam

I’ve just received another email which is obviously a phishing attempt.  Their reason for existence is to garner information from the recipient which is then used against them. Their obvious ‘fishing’ attempt is so they can use this information to rip off their victims at a later date, and if they get enough information off them they may even have an attempt at identity theft.

In their attempt at getting this information they will use the name of a reputable company to legitimize the email, in this case it was Lexus. Heck they’ve even used Microsoft as a partner in gaining my email ID which they pulled out of some fictitious hat or something in order for me to win the prize.

Naturally the prize is pretty big as they want to wet my appetite so that I will give them the information they require to rip me off. Here is a copy of the email.

Promotion Online Announcer,
lexus Motor Company,

There are obviously more than one person using this email to scam people as I’ve received more than one email. This alone should trigger alarm bells but apparently it doesn’t. If you received this pile of bullshit in your inbox do yourself a favor and delete it. Don’t even reply to it as this will simply legitimize your email address opening yourself up to more of this crap.

Though this is just spam we got to admit that the spammers are getting smarter and smarter, too bad they don’t use this energy to create something useful. No surprise people are still falling for this kind of message.
