I do not by any means want you to believe that I think that all dogooders are bad. No for there is certainly a place for those to do good for goods sake but unfortunately this is not true for all occurrences. However, before we go any further Let me please give you a definition of a dogooder: A dogodder is a naive idealist who supports humanitarian causes or reforms or someone devoted to the promotion of human welfare and to social reforms. Pesonally I prefer the naive description.
I remember a time not too long ago when one was able to walk the streets safely. On a hot balmy night you would sleep in the front yard under the stars, or leave the front door unlocked never for once fearing your safety. What changed all that? My theory is the dogooders or DG’s for short.
There was once a time when if you did something bad at school you would get the cane! If you were to misbehave at home a spanking was in the order. Enter the DG’s, the cane is abolished and anyone spanking the child is a bad parent.
I am not saying that all kids are bad just that those who are need not necessarily be that way. Perhaps if they had some guidance, boundaries etc along the way they may have taken another path.
There was a time when children were able to be children, innocent with enquiring minds but able to mature at there own pace. Enter the DG’s. Now they want to change Ba Ba Black Sheep to Ba Ba Rainbow Sheep because calling it a black sheep may offend someone. More and more schools refrain from singing Xmas carols because it may offend some other religions. Sex education is being introduced at a ridiculously early age. Teachers cannot comfort a distressed child because it may be seen as unwarranted sexual attention.
But what really pains me is that they banned The Three Stooges because it was too violent. Those damn DG’s again! I mean come on, they were so funny, as a child I never saw the violence side, only the comedy side. These damn DG’s are wrecking society with their naive reforms. Tell me you DG’s of the world! Are we better off!
