When thinking about investments many people tend to forget about commercial real estate which is a shame as these can make you a tidy some of money. With rental homes I find that there is a lot more upkeep involved which can cost you both time and money. Commercial real estate on the other hand I find to be easier to maintain and tenants are generally easier to deal with. Another plus is that with commercial real estate, at least in Australia, you can incorporate all the outgoings into the rent which increases the profitability of the investment by quite a bit.
