Why Would Google Give Money Away From Nigeria

The following email has to be the biggest pile of bullshit I have ever seen. The English is atrocious, not something you would expect from someone representing Google. The fact that it comes from Nigeria should really set the alarm bells going. It is definitely a phishing type email scam, and if you seriously believe that Google would indiscriminately be sending out this crap, and choose to ignore all the warning signs, then perhaps you deserve to learn by your mistakes.

Honestly if you receive this in the email,  do not respond to it, delete it immediately!

Actually they are a bunch of morons. Anything to do with Africa should be avoided at all costs!

Now, now Peter, that is a tad harsh mate, I’m sure there is plenty that is good, you just have to wade through a bit of crap to get to it.

It would seems that the majority of online scams come from Nigeria at the moment which is a shame considering the vast majority of the population of Nigeria get a bad reputation yet they cant even afford the cost of an internet connection.

  3. BS Artist

That is so true Khaled, and seeing how it is giving them a bad reputation you think that the Government would be more proactive in stamping it out.

Its interesting how Google is opening shop up in Nigeria around the same time some prince died and his trustees want my banking information so that they can deposit millions of dollars into it.

Exciting times we live in. :tongue_wink_ee:

Jinksys last blog post..Pussycat or Real Doll

Yeah, I suppose that’s what you call perfect timing. Thanks for the comment.

Am even amazed at the level at which our boys are not thinking of making this nation great but are only thinking of getting rich quick no matter the means. Am really ashamed of them.

Isn’t it a shame how the actions of a few can reflect how people view the majority?

This is real bad… I was actually searching for an address of a google office in nigeria for a job when I stumbled on this site. As a nigerian I admit that there a fraudulent folks here but they are the minority…. It seams as if a lot of people do it because the few people who are involved are so dedicated and usually spend over 20 hrs of the day on the laptop sending such scam mails. Most times, if an offer is too good to be true, then it ain’t true…it’s hard to verify such mails esp because most organisations in nigeria don’t have a strong web presence or effective customer care service. As for the guy who says anything from africa should be avoided, I think ur wrong. There’s a lot of great talents in africa and especially nigeria. And I really think google should have an office in nigeria because I believe nigeria has the highest number of internet users in africa despite the very high internet fees we pay… Considering the high population of nigeria and the huge profits they can make from the google ads… Its only a matter of time before an office pops up in nigeria.

    We’re re branding nigeria.
    Good people, great nation.

Good on you for sticking up for your homeland Chux. I’ve never been one to brand everyone with the same brush just because of one bad apple.

  9. Mandy

It is quite sad that these people keep giving us a bad name therby scarring potential investors away from our dear country. Chux I feel you and I must say that these evil people are in the minority. thanks BP artist for your sensible comment, I agree with you, don’t brand evryone with the same brush because of one bad apple

on the real, scammers are everywhere but its so sad that some few lazy Nigerians are are most dedicated to it. Its greedy people with the same mindset of them scammers that fall for this s**t. They all want to get rich quick:(
