Obama’s $75 Billion Mortgage Relief Plan

As President Barack Obama unveils his $75 billion mortgage relief plan, one that comprises a series of measures that he says will keep 9 million people from losing their jobs, one can only hope that they have done their homework properly and that the plan actually works.

I can understand that it is designed to help the needy over and above those that are dishonest or are trying to circumvent any system for their own gain. I can’t help but feel that they will be a lot that will find a loophole in it to feed their own greed. The real question is though, will this plan prevent 9 million people from losing their jobs?

It’s a legitimate question to ask, Sire, but it’s a chance I feel we need to take. Some folks are saying that we’ll be paying for it for years to come; hello, we already have almost a 6 trillion dollar deficit, created by our illustrious President Bush, who came into office with our country actually having the first surplus in almost 50 years. Talk about hypocritical!

We are in the same boat now with Rudd, but his excuse for going into deficit is the current world economic crisis. I just don’t think he is managing the whole thing properly.
