Axe Murder In the Quiet Town Of Cowra Australia

The first thing I thought of when I heard this news report was why would someone want to kill his grandchildren. I am talking about the 69 year old man who took an axe to his wife and two grandchildren. When his daughter, policewoman Shelley discovered the bodies he allegedly then had a go at her but she escaped with only a gash to the head.

The grandfather, John Walsh, was arrested without incident at a motel in the town of Hay, 258 miles west of Cowra. It was later discovered that the five-year-old girl had died by drowning, and while her seven-year-old brother showed signs of a head wound caused by a blunt object, cause of death has not yet been determined. Not so for the grandmother whose death was caused by several axe wounds on her chest and head. All this occurring in the quiet town of Cowra, much to the shock of residents. Makes you wonder what this world is coming to.

So, what would cause a person to suddenly freak out and kill his loved ones? Apparently police sources have confirmed that the elderly man suffered dementia so perhaps this may have sparked the violent frenzy.
